picky eater

I have a picky eater for a dog. She won't eat any of the good dog foods like wellness or natural balance and she has food allergies so I don't know what else I can give her. She seems to like the food with real chicken in it or real beef in it where she can taste it. I can't let her go hungry for any amount of time because if I do she starts puking everywhere.

I am now trying wellness with her and she doesn't seem to care for that food. I am going to have to give it to her for a couple of days to see if i can get her to eat if not the bag is going back to petco and i will get something else but don't know what else is grainfree that I can try. I don't have a way to get over to solomons to peppers pet pantry either cause if i did i would go and get some of the evo ( i think that is what it is called) from her to try with bruno to see if she will eat it or not.

Is there a certain reason you have to stick with grain free? I know it can be better in some cases, but there's no use getting it for her if she won't eat it. Maybe you can try a good quality food that has some grain in it.

I tried kibbles and bits (she loves it but her itching herself all night isn't hacking it). She loves food with real pieces of chicken and beef in it maybe thats why she loves kibbles and bits but i don't know if that is the reason or not.

I haven't looked at the ingredient list for Kibbles and Bits, but I seriously doubt there are any pieces of real chicken or beef in it.

Weren't you feeding Natural Balance? Their lamb and rice food is corn free. Maybe try that? California Natural Lamb and Rice is also corn free.

Have you asked you vet about a prescripton dog food? I have a cat that can only eat prescription food, anything else she throws back up.

i am at my wits end i will try anything with her to get her to eat at this point in time. i couldn't get her to eat breakkfast this am so i guess i will ttry to feed her at dinner time again (5pm) and see if i can get her to eat then or not .

she loves cooked chicken she will eat it by the platefuls if i let her.

cook enough chicken for a couple days and add it to the dry food. A dog will not let itself starve to death. ours was a picky eater too but he learned to eat what he has in his bowl.

boil chicken or hamburger. Add it to the dry food. Gradually cut back on the chicken/burger until she is only eating the dry food.

Taste of the Wild is a good food, it's grain free and not as expensive as the EVO or Wellness. $40 ish for a 30 lb bag, good ingredients too. Try it, mine love it, they are also novel protein foods too, like Bison and Venison and also wildfowl flavour.

Since we have added a new distributor, we can get TOW. I ordered samples in yesterday's delivery and they didn't send them. TOW is supposed to be an outstanding food with a better price point than EVO. I did order a case of wet food and my cats really liked it last night.

Do you stock brand name "Chicken Soup" Dog food?
The only place that I could get it (Lori B's) will no longer stock pet food.
