Pigs being slaughtered?

Ok am I being a prude? I mean this was absolutely foul and actually it was my husband that pointd it out and said how appauled he was that it was on.

Who picks programming for our local access channel?

yea and just so you know, like in the slaughter plants, the pigs are stunned or gassed, but these pigs WERE NOT. these pigs had to deal with the pain unlike the pigs in the slaughter houses who are usually not conscious. what no one seems to realize is that that video is actually showing incriminating evidence of animal cruelty and it will be presented in front of the right people who can do something about that. there are regulations as to how pigs are to be slaughtered. the thing is that those people video tapped a pig slaughter that can get them in trouble.

The regulations you refer to do not apply to a farmer slaughtering his own livestock.

Animal cruelty? :rolleyes: It isn't animal cruelty if they're SLAUGHTERING the animal.

actually even in the slaughter house's the pigs,chickens and even cows are still concious(sp) if you go to the humane society website or the peta website they have footage of actual slaughter houses where the animals are kicking and wide awake while the butchers cut them up. pigs are actually still concious when they dip them in extremely hot water to singe they're hair off. its a cruel procedure but if your still eating meat, you can't complain. i eat meat and i particular don't like the ways slaughtering are done, but there are more "humane" ways to do it to better appeal to the public

What color is the sky in your world and what slaughterhouse have you ever been to? You people with your sterile view of the world think the meat in your grocery store in the neat little packages is birthed that way! What was shown is no different than the methods used to slaughter every animal in the world. Larger animals are knocked out to prevent injury to the meat and the workers - WITH A CLUB TO THE HEAD! That's better??!! Gas is NOT used - do you know how the wackos would scream then? All those chemicals in the meat ??

Get over it!!! I know where the steak on my table came from and I'd eat one everyday if I could afford it and my heart could take it!!!!

No, the animals are not conscious. They are stunned with a captive bolt or electrocution (chickens, pigs, sheep). The movement you see is from the animals' reflexes.
