Pit Bull Puppies

We are looking for a female pit bull puppy to keep our current female pit company. We have no interest in breeding, just looking for another baby to spoil. If anyone has a puppy that they are looking to give away or sell please let us know.

Calvert County humane society has a beautiful young pit bull girl called Pink. She's somewhere around 6 to 9 months of age and full of energy.

Pink has already been adopted out, unless it was you that adopted her, she has already found a home. Calvert seemed to have the most bully's of the places in the area that we looked. My wife and I were looking for a buddy for our little pit mix Myles. Pink was definitely one that was high on our list, but we were looking for a dog that was a little older since we do not have the time right now for a puppy. I would check with the animal relief fund as well, because when we got Holly, there was another pit/boxer looking puppy with a lot of spunk.

Myles on the left, Holly on the right...of course.

I would also look at calverts site since they seem to have lots of doggies of the type you are looking for...take care, and let us know if you need more help.

Thank you for your suggestions, but I would actually rather not deal with the Calvert County Humane Society. We have encountered some racial discrimination with them in the past, in looking for this puppy. You see, they currently have a litter of pit puppies and my boyfriend, who is Black and sounds like it on the phone, contacted the woman who is taking care of them. After their initial conversation, she refused to answer or return his phone calls. When I called, she was very receptive and helpful, until I took my boyfriend over to her house to see the puppies. Now it seems as if she is trying to be as difficult as possible. It is really a shame, because he is the one who has worked with our pit the most, and he has made her a wonderfully friendly, non-aggressive dog. On the other hand, we were hoping for a very new puppy, less than 4 months. I think that with this breed, it is important to get them as early as possible to avoid any bad habits or aggressiveness.

I am very sorry to hear about your discrimination. It is sad that people can be that way, and I guess you now understand the plight of the pit bulls themselves. They are discriminated against the most, but honestly have been the best dogs I have ever owned. I am unsure of who you spoke to, but while we have had many talks with people about pit bulls, some are very picky of who they adopt to, because of abuse of the dogs and such. I am not saying that it is right, but it is possible that this person has had many bad experiences, and got the impression that your boyfriend would not be a good father to the dog for whatever reason. Anyway, the Animal Relief Fund might be a better fit for you both, so just check them out. I know that they are willing to work with you, and encourage a meet and greet with your current dog or cat.

Good Luck...

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and help. We found a beautiful 11 week old little girl. She's sweet and adorable and our other dog loves her.

By any chance, were you & your BF down at a private CRE beach this afternoon? I saw a guy & gal with 2 PB's on leashes.

People either love them or hate them. There's very little middle ground. People who have had them usually love them people who haven't tend to be ignorant toward them and hate them.

I got lucky with my neighbors. The wife is around my mom's age probably a little older and she adores Mily. My own mother freaked out the first time I got one. Told me how it was going to turn on me and attack me. My ex husband use to swear I was going to get my throat bit out by my own dog. Both have very different opinions now.

Funny, I've had dogs my entire life and worked for a vet and have never even been growled at by a pit. My two year old hangs off of our pit bull and she's nothing but tolerant of him and gaurds him like there's no tomorrow. I'm of pretty small stature and if I so much as raise my voice at her she puts herself in her crate.

Instead of looking for them at the vet's office, you should look in inner city dog pounds. The bad owners aren't taking their dogs to the vet.
