Thank you for your suggestions, but I would actually rather not deal with the Calvert County Humane Society. We have encountered some racial discrimination with them in the past, in looking for this puppy. You see, they currently have a litter of pit puppies and my boyfriend, who is Black and sounds like it on the phone, contacted the woman who is taking care of them. After their initial conversation, she refused to answer or return his phone calls. When I called, she was very receptive and helpful, until I took my boyfriend over to her house to see the puppies. Now it seems as if she is trying to be as difficult as possible. It is really a shame, because he is the one who has worked with our pit the most, and he has made her a wonderfully friendly, non-aggressive dog. On the other hand, we were hoping for a very new puppy, less than 4 months. I think that with this breed, it is important to get them as early as possible to avoid any bad habits or aggressiveness.
