if anyone in the ridge area is missing there pitbull you need to go to hughesville to pick it up. Someone thought it was cute to put him/her in our fenced in yard during the night and tried to go after me and bruno by lunging at teh fence and trying to get through it to get me and the dog.

thanks a/c for coming to pick it up you saved my life and my dogs life :).

Oh my that is just wrong! I am glad that it did not harm you or your dog! What a way to be greeted in the morning huh?

i can tell you this if that dog had hurt me i wouldn't be here to tell you all about the dog and where it is now. I was so scared I called the sheriffs office and had to beg them to call the night time a/w to have him call me. He knows the breed is dangerous. He came here and said I see you have a beware of dog sign I said yes we do because we have a stbernard here and we don't want people getting shocked if they see a dog in the yard.

I hate pits and never will ever have one near me as long i am alive.

I have no clue who did it. I was sleeping when the dog was put in there. I woke at 1am to pee and heard a dog barking and thought it was in the field til i got outside with bruno and umm i ran back in as fast as I could with bruno and waited on the a/w.

Could have jumped the fence into your yard...which is more likely what happened.

the fence is 6' tall and gates were shut with the handle put down so someone had to physically come and open it I don't know of any dog that can jump a 6' fence that is chainlink.

I can't figure out how if the dog was inside your fence, how you got out of the house and somehow ran into the dog on the other side of the fence... Wouldn't you be inside the fence with the dog?

Aren't you inside your fence when you leave your house? What?

Did MC Escher design your yard?

Hehe. My boy will clear a 6 foot fence. A Pitt can climb one easy.

ok i forgot to mention i live in an apt. the fenced area is about 50ft from my front door and you have to unlock the handle to get in and out as the gate is always shut. it is just to protect the trailers and campers from being stolen and I use it from time to time to let bruno run while i work outside so she doesn't have to be on a leash all the time.

OK well that explains things a little better.

I do doubt anyone put the dog in there... Bleieve me, even little dogs can climb chain link... some dogs have learned to climb far wierder things... we had a dog in a boarding kennel I once worked at that was a talented escape artist... But it is possible. When I lived in St Paul, the gang bangers were into dog fighting, and a couple guys put a pit in my yard once w/ old Caber. He held his own until I got out there with my aluminum baseball bat. We won.

Anyway...

beauty Dobie! I used to have a Red too and the 6' fence was nothing to it.

Thankee! That's Caber, he passed in Aug 2007. Still have Harley and Gazelle, both B/T too. I had a red down in FL a few years back. Good dog. Had him for a year to train him in French Ring, IPO (schutzhund) and family protection for a breeder friend. Wish I could have kept him, but that wasn't the deal... Eric was a good dog.

Yea Right
Pure ignorance!

My family has had Amstaffs since I was 1. I am now 26. We have 2 within my immediate family, my parents also have 2. They have been the best dogs ever. Not one issue. :yahoo:

well then you are lucky. nothing like getting up at 530 to take the dog out to potty and having a dog trying to break down your fence to get to you and your dog. Thankgod we have animal wardens here and he came and took care of the issue. No more for me to worry about getting hurt.
