Places for 4 year old birthday party

Does anyone know where there's a good indoor place to have a birthday party for a fairly large group of 4-year-olds fairly close to DC?

I'm starting to get ready for my little girl to turn 4 years old. I know the "you should invite one guest for every year-old the child will be" rule but that's not going to work for us this year. She has about 20 friends in DC where she used to go to daycare and misses them very much. So I'd like to find someplace indoors somewhat close to DC. I figure the closer to DC the more guests will come. We've always had birthday parties at our house in La Plata the past but know it's quite a drive for the parents. We're looking for someplace closer this year.

I've never had a birthday party at a place like Chuck E Cheese and imagine it would be rather difficult to do with lots of kids on a crowded Saturday. All the McDonalds I know of on 301 in Waldorf have only outdoor slides. Seeing as the party will be in December, I'm looking for something indoors.

Find a Little Gym that would be convenient for all your guests. They put together great parties and the kids love it. They have organized play in the gym and supervised free play, then off to the party room for Cake (the only thing you have to bring) and punch. They even organize the gift opening and take notes of who gave what. On the way out they supply the party bags. My daughter loves the place. (We actually prefer the one in Waldorf over the one in LaPlata)

The Little Gym is a great idea - thanks! I've been wanting to go there and didn't know they did birthday parties. I called the one you recommended and it looks like they're booked for the next month and a half but we may be able to have it there on a Saturday evening (7:00). I'm not sure if that's a bit too late for 4 year olds though. I definitely should have planned this further in advance...

You'll be out of there by 8:30 at the latest. The kids do so much running around they crash on the way home. Good luck.

Closer to DC. Hummm.
Jeepers in greenbelt. http://www.jeepers.com/index2_copy.htm

or
funland http://www.cpfunland.com/ This is the best of the kids places I have been to. Central Park Fun Land is Virginia´s largest Indoor/Outdoor Family Entertainment facility. We have a huge variety of rides and attractions, a large game room, snack bar, Subway, and plenty of group/party space for special events.

Elite Gymnastics in Waldorf will hold childrens parties. Not sure of the cost or what's included, but it could be something to check out.

Good suggestion Chasey. We had a few at the one in Lexington Park. The kids love running and climping and jumping. :yay:

thanks everyone

I checked into Elite but they wanted all kids attending the party to be over 4 years old, which would not have worked.

I was able to talk someone into letting me have the party at the community center on Bolling AFB. Most of my daughter's friends live on that base so that's definitely easiest for them.

Next year I'll plan ahead and have it at the little gym or elite gymnastics in Waldorf, depending on the kids ages. Thanks for all the suggestions.
