P needs to get his chainsaw blades sharpened. Where are some local places that do it. I have tried to google, and looked in the classified area.

Buy new chain it's cheaper and get a dremmel tool with the correct size bit and sharpen your own chains. I usually get about 3 or 4 sharpenings before I change the chain. Of course that's only if you don't hit dirt with it.

I've been going to Milts for years. Wouldn't think about going anywhere else for sales and service.

Jacob does sharpening and small engine repair. His shop/house is first house on right when you turn onto Busy Corner Road from Loveville Road.

Yep I agree :yay: If you buy quality blades/chains it's cheaper to get them sharpened.

I have used Jacobs, Milts and the Leonardtown True Value.

Out of the three, Leonardtown TV is the best.

Jacobs had my chains for two weeks before he got around to them.

Milts, expect to wait in line. They usually have one person helping at the counter and getting customers in and out the door isn't a priority. No problem though if you can handle a wait every now and again. I would still be using him, but the True Value is closer and their job is as good as Milts.

As far as small engine repairs, there is a shop just up the same gravel drive as the Loveville post office. I think it's called Dave's. Your best bet here is to pick up the parts and do the work yourself. The last time I asked about him getting a generator running for me it was several weeks before he could even look at it... That was right in the middle of lawn season though. I bought the parts I needed and got it running that night. He is the best around when it comes to having the parts in stock and doing the necessary cross checks to make sure you're getting the right part(s).

What does it cost to have one of these places sharpen your saw chain?

I too have a Dremel with the saw chain accessory. Never sharpened it myself because a new chain is only about $14 for my Echo chain saw.

The last time he got it done it was 25.00 for all 4 of them. I am sure it will be about the same thing, but not sure.
