Planes crash in Russia. Terrorism suspected!

MOSCOW - A Russian airliner crashed and a second disappeared from radar about the same time Tuesday night after both planes took off from the same Moscow airport, raising fears that terrorism was involved. A distress signal was activated on the second plane, a Russian news agency reported.

An emergency officials said that all 43 people aboard the first plane were killed in the crash and that what were believed to be pieces of wreckage from the second plane carrying 46 people had been found. The planes left Moscow's Domodedovo airport 40 minutes apart, news agencies reported.

When Russia's U.N. Ambassador Andrey Denisov was told of the initial report of two near-simultaneous crashes, he said, "Now we have to see if there's terrorism."

Russia's main intelligence agency, however, said it had found no evidence of terrorism in initial investigations at the crash sites.

The Federal Security Service (FSB) said the explosive traces were found in the wreckage of the Siberia Airlines Tupelov 154 -- the second plane that crashed.

They apparently also have an idea as to who the bomb-carrier was, a Chechen woman.

hmmm....i wonder if that second place was bound to crash into Sochi to take out President Putin? and then somehow the explosives went off early? it was planned to go to Sochi anyways....either that or the Russian government is trying to cover up another reason they crashed...maybe their poor aircraft maintenance....and they are just trying to cover it up to avoid blame on poor practices...

Doubt it. Did you think when the second plane hit the WTC "wow, what a coincidence!".

They both blew up or crashed at approximately the same time even though they were headed different directions. It's not as though passenger plane crashes are routine in Russia. I'm convinced it was deliberate.

Oh yeah. I'm convinced it was deliberate too....but i still like to entertain my conspiracy theories....

I think the original "accident" theory stated that since both planes had just been fueled and checked at the same airport, they could have encountered a related technical problem. The "bad gas" idea was that they were both fueled from the same tankand if there were impurities or something it could have caused massive engine failures on both planes.

Yeah, it's a halfbaked theory and full of all sorts of holes, I'm just remembering the old CNN and AP reports from the Russian Security guys. I have to think that there was a lot of eye-rolling at those announcements.
