I drove by the old library today. Looks like it's going to be a community playhouse. Anyone heard anything about it?

I read something about that in the enterprise a couple of weeks ago, it is going to be the home of one of the community based theater groups. If I remember right, I believe it may be one of the calvert groups.

I think it will be a good thing. As soon as they level the flat tops, and make a few changes in the area. I was pretty excited when I read there would be a commmunity theatre starting up. Is anyone interested in getting involved????

The thought has crossed my mind. I just don't know if I'll have time.
Neither do I , but I would love to...I haven't done dramatic arts(other than my life,LOL) since I was in school. I did sets and costumes and a little acting ...I am a drama queen..HAHA:drama: :diva:

It would give me a chance to dress up all year "round.

(still plays dress up at 30)

THAT"S GORGEOUS!!!
I love the color and the fleur de lis pattern would be perfect for period clothing...I bet the fabric is $$pricey$$..... Are you working on thet yourself??

I bought a blue brocade to make a bodice but I have not even touched it.. I am afraid my sewing skills are not adequate enough to place the stiff boning right.....

No, I'm having it made by a couple of seamstresses in TN. The fleur was 11.99 yd, 9 yards. The stripe was 4.99 yd, 5 yds. Not too bad for the weight and quality. I need to work on FB's costume and scan and post it. Same colors but his fabric is strapwork, looks like basket weave. Later, I'll do the bead work. I want to put a pearl inside each "flower" where the pattern criss crosses.

Regarding the playhouse... Some time ago, maybe before the holidays , I recall an ad in the classifieds (SOMD) - the folks preparing for the opening of the playhouse were looking for materials and participants (maybe)...

Might be something worth looking into in the future...

Geez Elaine, I wish I had anytime right now to work on something for garb. I am tired of what I have now.. You need to show me when it gets done. I want something a bit fancier than my old wenchy costume...

I want something pale blue and white.. Something that flows well.

:mindracing:

May be time to get the sewing machine out, or at least go visit my Mennonite friend who made my kids clothes when they were small.
