Please recommend a protestant church in St. Mary's

Why protestant? There are lots of good Catholic churches which can trace their succession right back to the Apostles themselves.
Oh yeah, that's what protestants protested against!

No protestants protest against "Bad, Evil, Mean, God." We trust in "Daddy God." Now sit yourself down. :lmao:

St. Georges Ep. Church in Valley Lee, and St. Georges Island Methodist Church is very good.

South Point Church in California is wonderful. Warm, friendly and true to the Gospel. Check out the website at: www.southpoint4u.com . The pastor is Matt Hall, previously the director of the very successful Young Life program in St. Mary's County. God Bless-

Thanks for the red karma, hope you find the church your looking for and the roof falls in. Trying to be helpful and this is your thanks. What about the others that reccommended other churchs.

You must be blessed.

Hmmm... someone doesn't know his/her history :nono:
And someone has bought into the Catholic version of history, but this thread is not about Catholic, Protestant, Pentecostal, so let's leave the "mine is better than yours" out of it. I'm glad you are happy being a Catholic. nmpali asked for a Protestant church recommendation; hence, Catholic does not fit the requirement.

I consider myself a Christian. All other denominational issues are trivial beyond the acceptance of Jesus as God, Savior, and Lord.

nmpali, I suggest you visit some churches and pray about those you visit. Pray that God puts you in just the right congregation for His needs for you. I hope you will consider all that have been recommended. Find one that feels like home. God bless you.

No, dear. Big, mean God is not what protestants protested. They protested abuses by the Catholic clergy.
And if denomination does not matter, why not Catholic? Do you think Catholics are not Christian?
Why can't I invite someone to look at a Catholic Church if they profess Jesus Christ as Savior?

Where did "dear" come from? It sounds like you are being condescending. I hope not. I am trying to respect you.

"They protested abuses by the Catholic clergy. " is true, specifically the Pope and the concept of purgatory and the selling of indulgences (get out of hell for money cards). We can go there if you like, but this has been discussed in other threads and is rather fruitless, and I would suggest not doing it in this thread. And I am reluctant to participate, since it is a fruitless discussion. It is highly unlikely that anyone's point of view will be changed, certainly not yours or mine.

Some Catholics are Christians; some are not. That is the same in all churches. There are those that are among the sheep that are wolves or just there "because" or there because they're searching. Not everyone sitting in or belonging to a church is a Christian.

You can invite someone to look at a Catholic Church. I would think it is appropriate if they had asked for a church recommendation. nmpali did not. The request was for a protestant church. See the difference? It is like you go to a restaurant and ask for a beef recommendation and the staff only recommends fish; it is not what you asked for.

You're right, I was being condescending, and you are being very nice. My original post was meant to be a bit of a quip, but earned the "big, mean God" response. THAT had to be corrected.
I'll have to check out the indulgences thread, because it sounds as though you participated, but still you think it's a "get out of hell" card. You've been given erroneous information.

Some, I too, have been less that respectful of others; too much me and not enough God. Now, I read the Bible and I use verses from the Bible to proclaim, and I try to stay out of the "convincing" or "arm twisting" business. Arguments, especially arguments between Christians do not build up the body of Christ but tears it down instead. God bless you in your walk with Him.

Thank you for all of your recommendations; however, I didn't know my thread would turn into what it has so forget I posted. I don't know how to delete a thread or I would. So, forget I asked, take care.
