Plumber Dog

I used to see a red truck in St Mary's County with the name Plumber Dog on it, trying to find his number. Boothe is my next choice also since they did a good job installing new AC unit. 1. first issue was water came out of the drainpipe where the washer hose is in. 2. next noticed flushing upstairs made water come out also same pipe, kinda clear water. 3. ran washing machine again and no water came out, weird. 5 Go outside to sewer pipe and water is near the top (bad sign of clog somewhere) 3. Later looked in the pipe outside again and water level went down. 4. Ran washer marching again with hot water and first cycle worked find, but in rinse cycle clear water came out the pipe again. For right now flushing toilet and all water is working find. 5. Legs are sore from bending using my small wet vac. 6 There is no water coming out at all on its own. so good.

Sounds like a septic issue. Hopefully as simple as the pump gone bad in the septic tank and not the drain fields. I had this issue a couple years ago.

I never think of septic pumps going out, I and nearly everyone in this area don't have one, just the tank and drain field. And I too was going on experience a few years back when my drain field collapsed.

Hopefully it's just a plug in the line out of the house.

My old drain field was pulled out of the ground by an Act of God. Bad storm came through and took out a huge old tree that tore it out. I was fortunate, my insurance paid for it. C&C Plumbing came out and took care of the issue for me.

We've used C&C as well, for many plumbing and septic issues. Good group of people, low staff turnover.

So, update water came out of the same pipe, not too much when or what condition why. I saw video where a camera can be inserted by pro to see in the lines. and track a clog. Was getting mail about septic insurance in St Mary's, but I think this is a different scenario, might opt for that insurance later.

go to your local hardware store and get a plumbing snake and insert in that pipe and force in the direction the water is supposed to travel. If you have a blockage between there and the septic tank, you will feel it and most likely be able to clear it with the snake. Otherwise, it sounds like your tank is full and needs to be pumped to then determine if the pump inside the tank is bad or your drain fields are bad. You should only have a pump in your tank if your drain fields are above the grade of the tank.

Ran 25 foot of snake, and did not feel a thing. But just for test ran washing machine and wit hot water and water did back out of the pipe. Still an issue I believe. So, the first part of the pipe is 12 feet again that wall after that it goes through basement floor, snake definitely went down with the pipe.

Water air vent clogged?

Water came out the pcv pipe where the washing machine drain is. Notice after flushing toilets upstairs 2 days ago. Later flushing with no issues. Every water thing upstairs was working ok. decided to run washer with hot water only first time was cycle drained fine, rinse cycle water came out of pipe again after about 1 minute of washer draining. Looked at outside pipe and it was near the top, that should indicate clog, but later it went all the way down. Today decided to snake 25 feet and nothing. Ran washer again, it was fine to the end. But water came out the pipe again today 5 minutes later. Everything upstairs working fine flushing, shower etc. So yes, water backing up but not constant, water air vent clog. not sure what that means.

Find the top to your tank and open it to see what's going on.
If you're talking about sewer cover, haha, not in my field, surely would call plumber. There is one round cover in from of house area, write near electric boxes area. Might look, I sit all day and look at computer screens, I can't be seen doing that haha.

What you're describing is exactly the same as what happened to me, except it was the ground-level terlet backing up. After waiting a bit, levels go down and you may get one or two flushes out of it. This is a good indication the tank is full and not draining normally. Get the tank drained and while they have the cap off, they will check flow out of the house and flow out of the tank to the pump/drainfield.

The upstairs seems to be ok because the 3-5 gallons comes down and fills the rest of the house pipes until the level of the washer drain is met (2-3 feet above the outflow pipe), and that's when it overflows.

@FED_UP do you have a septic tank or are you on sewer? If on sewer do you have a visual sensor for a grinder pump problem? Usually a red light on a box near the power source.

No expert on plumbing but the water bill says sewer systems. See a small box that says water but can't make out any light.
