Anyone know what’s going on with the building? I see that the windows are papered over and there’s some painting going on in there.

Drive-thru Dollar General. Place your order on-line then pick it up at the window.

Dunkirk is finally entering the 21st Century, a Dollar Tree is slated to open in the shopping center that has the Safeway. People are going nuts, not in a positive way.

Are they thinking with a Dollar Tree coming that sewer and high density housing aren't far behind or something? Or were they just hoping for a Neiman Marcus instead?

It will impact their property values and bring the "wrong people" there.
Water, or more likely sewer, will have to go in there at some point whether they like it or not. The Safeway parking lot smells like a pig manure pile on warm days. A lot of the early houses are on their second septic field now with more failing all the time. Even on the five acre lots there are only so many places to put a new field and some of them have hit their limit.

Like other banks in the area that have vanished - my gut says, another bank could use the spot.

On the other hand, the one in Wildewood is now a restaurant, so what do I know?

The one in front of the UPS store?

It sat so long I was sure they were going to bulldoze it.

Personally, I was "saucy" when they came out with the notice that the PNC Hollywood was going to close. They blamed it on "not enough customers" however, ANY time I was at or in that branch, there was always 4-5 people deep waiting in line to be helped by the ONE teller that was working the desk. Always 2-3 people waiting in line for drive-thru banking.
