Poaching an egg

I am of the opinion that this is a long held tradition from colonial days, an antiqued ode to monarchy that absolutely illustrates the negative consequences of excess government and regulatory zeal.

Up here, the black market in eggs is staggering. We laugh, openly, at their kings.

:confused: I wait until the chickens are of the coop before I poach their eggs. Then I make sure the water is boiling and I crack the egg into a very small bowl and slide it into the boiling water in order to poach it.

I have a little metal device that you can do three at a time in. I have stopped using it and just go with cracking them into the boiling water.

I just use a small bowl. Spray or coat the bowl with olive oil, crack the egg into the bowl, cover with plastic wrap and nuke for 20-30 seconds. Serve on a toasted buttered English.
