Police Look To "Assualt Weapons"

...would be nice if we'd address the primary factor in crime; motivation.

Why are cops facing someone willing to shoot at them with rifles?

Drugs and drug money. Legalize drugs, the money drys up, no money, no rivals, no fear of the police.

Did anyone notice that four of the seven supposed "AK-47s", actually semi-auto AKMs, have thumb-hole stocks, meaning they were made when the AWB was in effect?

Also, how much good is it going to do you if you have to get out of your cruiser, go back to the trunk, and free your rifle from a complex lock and bracket, before you can bring your weapon to bear?

Ofcourse, but when has the media let actual facts get the way of a good sensationalized gun story?

I agree on the truck gun too, although there are situations where you may have time and the benefit of getting out to get to your "truck gun". I've seen cruisers with them mounted by the passenger's seat, seems alot more practical.
