Politicians are so much smarter than regular people - or even scientists

These two articles come to us from Australia, but are perhaps (probably) a portend of things to come. Read these two in succession. In fact, it's important to do so.

Key points:
  • AGL and Origin Energy announce energy price rises
  • Prices will rise between 20 and 29 per cent from July and August
  • The retailers say increased wholesale electricity prices are mainly to blame

'Last resort’ generators deployed as coal shutdowns squeeze WA power supply

I'm looking forward to watching California implode when they get their EV share up to 5% or 6%.

Should be fun watching them freak out when they can't charge the cars or, when they can, they pay $0.50 a KWh for power.

The stunning increases in the cost of electricity for the average household in Norway have really shaken them up...

No more using the clothes dryer at my son's house...and it took 3 days for my jeans to dry on the line.

Considering California has consistently killed their own power production, when demand increases, just watch AZ, OR and NV cut them off. :lmao:

Or charge them $1 per Kwh.

You watch: states and countries will make consumers pay a monthly bill on the order of a mortgage payment, due to people attempting to cut costs.

Hell, states in the Northwest were all up in the so-called "greenie" movement decades ago, when cars like the Prius came out. Suddenly, they weren't selling as much gasoline, and tax revenues fell. In response, Washington and Oregon were among the first to come up with a road use tax for regular drivers, the same as they have for over-the-road truckers.

It was met with a lot of outrage and hostility, but that doesn't keep them from trying to implement it. Now other states are trying to get it passed.

If you wonder why the electric bills are going up you need look no farther than our White House and it's occupant.
Or should I say the Georgetown White House and it's occupant.

Here we are in Southern Maryland with 2 perfectly good power plants sitting idle and their people sitting without jobs while the prices increase.
Now I realize that the their production may not have bee strictly for southern Maryland, but that is not the point.
The point is that power plants all over the country are being shut down and no new plants are being built, instead they care taking goo arable land and covering it with solar panels that will never produce the power that these plants put out.

This EV and electric BULLSH*T will never replace generated power.
