Poor baby, guess he is done.

On the heels of a back injury that held him out for the Masters and the U.S. Open, Tiger Woods suffered yet another back injury that forced him to withdraw from the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday. Used to have the utmost respect and admiration for Tiger when he started off, not so much any more.

I don't understand your thinking. I am not a Tiger, or even a golf fan, but why would you lose respect for someone that leaves a competition due to a recurring injury. All athletes eventually have to quit competing at the top levels, nobody lasts forever.

And i agree with you 100% he should just quit and cut out all the drama.

You can hate Tiger, despise him, even pity him, for his off the course issues but, anyone who has ANY issue with how hard that man worked, how stunningly talented he was, how he honored and respected the game, how thoroughly he prepared and committed to his profession, either knows not one damn thing about it or is a jack ass. Period. End of story.

Well, he had some pretty wild times cheating on his wife. I believe many do not respect him, anymore. I don't, and don't have any sympathy that he is all washed up. What is it with celebs that have it all and have to act out and do dishonorable things? Ego, for one. He is worth more than half a billion; that would get someone comfortably through many, many lifetimes.

Agree 100% Larry, but IMHO his day is over. Whether it is his age or lifestyle, he will never be back to where he was. He has become a used to be Time to become a golf pro at a course somewhere.

There is no denying what you said about Tiger. He is a golf prodigy. Not liking Tiger for the person he is, does not make one a jack ass.

That's another conversation and not one started with 'poor baby.' No sports fan can ask more from a competitor than that guy put out.

Took the words right out of my fingers. He is one of the greats and nobody from this generation of golfers touches him. It pisses me off when an athlete starts the natural physical breakdown process, and suddenly it's hate time. Tiger has busted his ass and doesn't deserve that sort of treatment.

Everyone's day gets over at some point but that doesn't make them a schmuck.

All sorts of professional athletes have had personal failings. I can't think of a sport which didn't have a superstar athlete, the best of the best in that sport, that didn't behave badly in their personal life.

No. Everyone on this forum is 'right' when they post an opinion. It just depends on who disagrees, but they are right, also. That is what makes a forum go round, and the world. If we all agreed, how boring would that be :snooze:, members wouldn't post, and Apollo would starve. It's all about Apollo!

Quit? How many times did he win last year before injury caught up to him? He might have slowed down from his days of dominance, but he is far from done, when healthy.

His problem is trying to live up to his hype. He came back too early from the surgery, surprising many. He should have taken the season off and fully recovered.

As to his actual injury this outing, did you see his stance, the shot, and his off balance dance through the bunker at #2 when he tweaked his back? It hurt mine watching it. He tried to finish out, but couldn't once his back started spasming.

Poor Tiger baby. Actually, DAD should have called him poor rich baby in his OP. He will recuperate in luxury the rest of his life. Yes, he earned it, and will go down as a great golfer in golf history; perhaps the greatest. Time will tell. Golf is a gentleman's game, and Tiger is no gentleman. May he now drop off the face of the earth. There are plenty more up and comings like Jordan Spieth, and others. Bye bye, Tiger.
