Poor Bush - He fell off his bike

jlabsher

Sorry about that chief.
Here's the official story line from Crawford:

President Bush took a spill during a Saturday afternoon bike ride on his ranch, suffering bruises and cuts that were visible later on his face just two days before he was to deliver a major prime-time speech on his Iraq policy.
The president was nearing the end of a 17-mile ride on his mountain bike, accompanied by a Secret Service agent, a military aide and his personal physician, Richard Tubb, who treated him at the scene, said White House spokesman Trent Duffy.

"It's been raining a lot and the topsoil is loose," Duffy said. "You know this president. He likes to go all-out. Suffice it to say he wasn't whistling show tunes."

So it's been raining a lot in Crawford, we are told. Hmmm, here's the recent precipitation levels from Crawford courtesy of the Weather Underground:

May 22: 0"
May 21: 0"
May 20: 0"
May 19: 0"
May 18: 0"
May 17: 0"
May 16: 0"
May 15: 0"
May 14: 0.03"
May 13: 2.79"
May 12: 0"
May 11: 0.15"
May 10: 0"
May 9: 0"

May 13th saw some serious rain, but other than some sprinkles on the 14th, Crawford saw nothing but sun. In the last week alone, the temperature was in the high 80s the entire time.

This is how petty you are - you base your Presidential decisions on how well the guy can ride a bike.

:duh:

Oh, and let's not forget his "speech impediment".

:duh: :duh:

Let's not forget riding a segeway.

What speech impediment, the one where he he talked about WMD, or the one where he said we could finance a war and improve the economy with tax cuts?

In Washington, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld cautioned that the sarin results were from a field test, which can be imperfect and more analysis needed to be done.

Lyndon LaRouche? I saw the supporters in downtown DC last week, didn't have the heart to publicly deride them for being such clueless wackos.

You know, if I were running for office and my opponent was wasting air time chuckling over my falling into a pool, I'd shake my head and ignore the whole thing. Because, you have to admit, it's one thing to make fun of my credentials and experience (and it's always tacky to ridicule - it always says more about the person casting ridicule), but it's childish to make jokes about *riding a bicycle*. Does anyone know WHAT Kerry is running on? I mean, at least, THIS week?

Most of us have heard about enough of Kerry's insults. You will notice that Bush is NOT doing the same thing, even if other conservative pundits do it. Bully for him, I say. I realize that if you already *hate* Bush, being childish about "training wheels" is just the kind of juvenile comment that appeals. I mean, it wasn't that long ago we heard "it's the economy, *STUPID*" and "extra chromosome right wing-nuts".

If the election comes down to who looks the best on TV, then America deserves the kind of man it elects to office on that basis.

I applaud Kerry for his silly "training wheels" comment. I wish he'd make more of them. A couple a day, actually. :yay:

Wasn't that statement made very soon after the shell went off? And then didn't they confirm it?

They've confirmed it now:
Tests Confirm Sarin Gas in Baghdad Bomb

May 25, 2004 03:43 PM EDT

WASHINGTON - Comprehensive testing has confirmed the presence of the chemical weapon sarin in the remains of a roadside bomb discovered this month in Baghdad, a defense official said Tuesday.

The determination, made by a laboratory in the United States that the official would not identify, verifies what earlier, less-thorough field tests had found: the bomb was made from an artillery shell designed to disperse the deadly nerve agent on the battlefield.

Just a fluke or more to come? Stay tuned.
