HONDO, N.M. — A 14-year-old boy accused in a triple-murder on newsman Sam Donaldson's ranch told police he took a gun from the barn and shot his family after being repeatedly beaten by his father — including once with a shovel, according to a man who took care of the teenager before his arrest.

I feel sorry for the kid, but he is 14 and there still was no excuse for him killing 3 people, if we let him get away with it, then he won't learn anything. My hearts and prayers are with the boy and the family.

I can't imagine anyone feeling sorry for this kid. He's 14, he knew damn well what he was doing!

I stand by my original feelings for him. I feel sorry that the adults in the world that knew he was being beat did not even attempt to rescue him from the hell he lived. I'm not saying he was right for murdering his family, I'm saying he snapped as a result of the life he had... not all kids in that condition snap like he did. Some do just fine venting in such ways as shoving lit firecrackers up puppies butts or by terrorizing other people when they are finally big enough to get the upper hand. The other adults in his life that could of intervened failed him. As a result, his family is dead and his psyche is probably unfixable. I am deeply sorry for what he has endured in his life and for what is now his future.

If he would have shot Donaldson I would contribute to his defense. BTW, isn't Donaldson heralded as an investigative reporter? Guess he isn't very skilled or he would have discovered what was going on right under his nose.
