Poor Phone Service

There is consistantly poor phone service in the South part of St. Mary's County. Other parts are having the same problem. This has the potental to be life threatening if a cell phone is a person's only source for calling for help. I hear at the last Commissioner's meeting someone told the Commissioners about it. I don't know what the result was.

Also complain to your carrier. They're the ones that place towers, not the Commissioners.
No carriers place towers. American Tower, Crown Castle, and SBA own about 90% of the towers in the United States and government dictates where they go. Carriers lease space for their antennas.

Tis why we had a landline installed when we got the house in the Fall of 2013.

Which is actually what I should have said. The carriers do have some serious input on where/when American Tower places them.

Having said that, there are dead spots all over Southern Maryland.

Did you know Calvert County is now having towers built and mandating carriers move to their towers because they are forcing removal of existing towers? Guess who gets paid for the rental space on the tower?

Sounds like they are creating a revenue stream that doesn't involve housing developments, shopping centers or tax increases.

Words can not describe how utterly wrong you are. Stop spreading misinformation.

lol - Yeah, been there done that. They speak hardly any English. And are in India or Pakistan. They give you some smoke and mirrors and call themselves helping you. They are terrible to contact and even worse to talk to. Beyond horrible!!!

Interesting. I complained to the Commissioners too. Essentially, it went in one ear and out the other. It seems that so long as it doesn't effect them, they could care less.

the only thing that sucks about it is when a summertime storm comes in and turns the little service in the area into a complete deadzone, then again all the calls i get these days is extended warranty so i don't know if that's really a negative
