A Portland high school has postponed changing its mascot to an evergreen tree after a committee member raised concerns about its possible connotations to lynching.

Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School adopted its namesake earlier this year after the Pulitzer Prize-winning African American journalist who extensively documented lynching at the turn of the 20th century, the Portland Tribune reported.

I used to feel sorry for those that are "racially sensitive", but now I feel sorry for those of us that must endure their misguided righteousness. Just another example of liberal brain washing. If you view an evergreen tree as a symbol of racism, you have more problems than I care to deal with. You just go ahead and believe what you want, but stay far, far away from me with your beliefs.

They can't name it after a streetlight or telephone pole or even a flagpole. all could be used for a lynching.
Maybe a dogwood. God said never again shall the dogwood grow large enough to build a cross from or hang a body from I guess.

It seems this Evergreen racist plot is much deeper and widespread than we know. The Taiwanese are behind it! The blocking of the Suez Canal by an Evergreen ship (named Ever Given, an obvious code name for a nefarious racist plan to control the sea lanes) was planned to disrupt the transportation of goods from black African nations to undermine their economies. An anonymous source also stated that Evergreen Shipping was involved in slave trade in the 1600's. Investigation is ongoing to determine how the Taiwanese infiltrated a high school in Portland.
