Anyway, I don't like Bush either - what a wimp. He should be taking over the world by now but he's still just pi$$ing around with diplomacy. :duh: I'm going to start disagreeing with everything just to keep myself from being bored. The Boss has a list a mile long for me and I can't concentrate if I don't have forum mayhem going on as well.

I travel extensively now and I mearely wanted family things to do so they can have fun while I am gone

and, if you've been stabbed and shot at, perhaps it was your "i am a bada**" attitude that caused you to let down your guard and get shot at or stabbed.

i've earned the right to do a lot of things too, but being a bigot isn't one of them (that comes from ignorance). you enjoy your travel and good luck in your quest for family things to do. I wish you only the whitest beach for your family to enjoy where you can feel at home. Meanwhile, I'll hang out on my non-caucasian beach near my home, and maybe get to meet some new people who (except for the non-naturalized, non-green card holding, illegal aliens) have just as much right to be on that beach as you and everyone else.

an interesting comparison, though -- you don't like people stereotyping cops or having preconceived ideas about them; so why is it okay for you to have them about non-white people?

See I am done talking to you about race you obviusly have a lot of anger about white people and you want to shroud it in some political correctness, knock yourself out.
Both time I was stabbed was on domestic disputes where I was areesting the husbands for kicking the crap out of their wives. It was the wives who stabbed me.
When I was shot I was in a foot pursuit with a man who had just raped a 73 year old alzheimer's patient. as I came around the corner I was ambushed. He firen 9 rounds at me and I got off four. He didnt make it cuz I so unfairly wore a bullet proof vest that day and he did not. By the way the 73 y/o was non caucasion. How stupid was I for taking a bullet for her. Oh My!

Why do some of you think that cops only get shot when they act like badazzes? Cops in rough districts get shot at and attacked all the time.

Not really.... You just might want to be really clear regarding some topics... and Pixie. You might not be a bad guy but you kinda came off as one... And I'm really over protective..

and you think i was assuming and insinuating things? I suggested your 'I'm a bad-a** attitude' was the cause; I didn't claim it as fact. But you sure do get defensive.

i don't think cops are the only ones with bada** attitudes. we all have them at some point in time. it's when we allow that attitude to make us bigotted creatures that its wrong. i have had crimes committed against me by people of other races. doesn't mean i hate them, fear them, think i'm stronger/mightier/better than them, or that others of the same race don't deserve to share a public space with me.

your job as a cop is to protect people regardless of race and keep the peace. there's nothing wrong with being a bigot in off-duty time. but don't expect others to respect you when you demonstrate those characteristics.

sorry, lastboyscout, if you misinterpretted my comment; it was in gest. perhaps a smile icon would have better indicated such.

and for the record, i AM a "caucasian". i just hate bigots -period. :bandit:
