Potomac Speedway Highlight Show

Due to an error two weeks in a row, the show was not aired. They aired the same show three weeks in a row.

As a result Potomac speedway has pulled their sponsorship of the TV show. At this time we are attempting to find a replacement sponsor so that we won't have to cut the TV show before the season end.

Who did you talk to over at Potomac Speedway?

I think you'd find more of an audience online than you will on Metrocast.

Our sponsors so far have been Big Dogs Bar, Deane Guy, Three Mules, and Gunter Honey. There are so many more we would like to get. If we can get a few more, we can keep it going.

You would be suprised how many drivers watch the show on TV.

We, at least, would like to uphold our end of the deal and keep the season going on TV. Next year is a different story, but we made a commitment, and we'd like to stick to it.

You'd also be surprised how many of the drivers read the race recaps on Southern Maryland Online. I'm just saying.

It sounds like you guys got screwed by Metrocast?

Metrocast just made a mistake. They got all new equipment just because of our show. They have apologized and offered to make good. We may even get a commercial put on the speed channel. There are no hard feelings there.

I just wish the track would hang in there with us.

Look in to running a commercial on SPEED during the ARCA Re/Max Series races. Those are the highest rated non-NASCAR broadcasts over on SPEED, and your ARCA viewership is more likely to come to the track than your average NASCAR fan.

Talk to Greg Gunter at Potomac. Explain to him what happened and see what he can do.

I think the track has already made up their mind.

Thanks for the tips, we will ask Metrocast to air it at the best time possible!

The next ARCA broadcast is on June 6th at 8:30pm EST (why would they air the race the same time as NASCAR on ESPN, what's the logic in that... oh, it's ARCA, there's no logic here)

No new sponsor yet. Metrocast is giving up four weeks free to find a new one.

It's great that they are doing that. Have you tried contacting any of the big sponsors of the cars? I know that a few of the local businesses sponsor a few cars. I cannot believe that the new track promoter is not sponsoring the show. I mean, he wants to do great things with the track, right?

He was our main sponsor until Metrocast made their mistake. I think we are going to ask Coors and some other big sponsors if they are willing to take over. That's not my department, so not sure if we have even contacted them, but hopefully we find someone.

Three Mules Welding Supply would be another good one to check with. They sponsor a bunch of cars out there.

Did Gunter pull his sponsorship out as well (Gunter's Honey). I agree with socki, it's pure bull#### they pulled out like that.

BTW, I'm still waiting for Doug Watson to send me the record books PDF. :tap:

We are doing the show with a new theme song, but it was written and performed for us by a band from philly.

You mean I went through all that for nothing?

I think it would be a cool idea to use a local artists' music ... but that's just me

Are you going to be there Friday?
