Straight up, DeSantis would be crazy to run. Why would he? There's nothing in it for him and if there IS something in it for him then I'll have to revise my opinion of him. He saw what they did to Trump - what kind of man would put his wife and young children through that?

So take Heavy D out of the picture, and take Trump out too just for fun: Who else would you like to see run?

I'm thinking Ted Cruz will run again. He knows how to do things now and isn't that smarmy revival preacher he was in 2016. He's dusted off his sense of humor and tossed the Brylcreem, now he's ready to rumble.

Most of the pukefest Republicans get a big NOPE from me. Asa Hutchison - NO. Liz ****ing Cheney - NO!!! Larry Hogan - NO NO NO! Nikki Haley - big NO. ****ing Mike Pence is a double NO - he needs to be punished for what he did, not rewarded.

But at some point the GOP will get behind a candidate, and you can be sure it won't be Trump. Then they'll start the PR campaign so mindless dolts will vote for the guy they're told to vote for. So who?

I agree with your take on this - and I could vote for Ted Cruz now, I think.

I can't think of anyone who really has the experience under their belt and won't sell out. Then again - not even sure we could trust Cruz.

Not sure what DeSantis is going to do. On one hand, he has stated that Chris Christie let his moment go by and he should have run when he decided against it. I took that as meaning DeSantis won't let anyone scare him off if he believes he has momentum and can win. On the other hand, if he can wait out the 2024 election he will either be running against 8 years of democrats which will make him even more appealing than today, or he will be running after Trump who will be out of eligibility.

It also could come down to how many people decide to get in on the republican side. If it's DeSantis vs. Trump I think DeSantis wins. If it's DeSantis and a bunch of others in the race, it could once again be Trump with a plurality. If enough people start jumping in, DeSantis would be smart to stay out so that he can run in 2028 and not have to worry about being labeled a primary loser.

I could vote for Cruz. Hell: I could vote for Abbott. We had a Democrat in a wheel chair once, why not a Republican.? Larry Hogan if he should run he should run as what he is----A Democrat.
