Powell Aide - Bush was "too aloof".. :-)

Somehow, I thought that removing yourself from the details of managing a war is what good Presidents are *supposed* to do. They're *supposed* to be smart enough to allow the experts to do what they've trained all their lives to do.

There's nothing in that article that can't be declared in a more postive slant - but, hey, it's CNN. And a hack with an axe to grind.

I haven't met Bush - but I HAVE met others who have. They all agree that "aloof" does NOT describe him.

He shouldn't be too involved, your right. Being in the military, I do not want him making my orders. He's just the CIC, he says go here and do this, and the generals and admirals make the nuts and bolts plans. Politicians need to stay out of war.

Absolutely. It was politicians in-the-loop that lost Vietnam.

Positive Slant?.. This President can't even accept a Jury Duty letter in a timely matter let alone run a war.. or country. Positive Slant.., I like that.. Reminds me of blaming someone else for something I did.. :killingme

Once again we'll state it again. It's not the President's job to run a war. That's what generals do. Your pretty dense and obviously didn't read any of the posts above but only care to make pitiful attempts at mudslinging.

Get your facts straight. He was due to serve next week, but got a postponement from the court. This is the same process you would follow if you had a business commitment.

Try getting your facts from someone other than Michael Moore.
