Came across this while keeping up on the weather. It's very similar to an UPS (uninterruptible power supply) that you might have protecting your computer, but has features like the big whole-home systems, like time-of-use, remote monitoring and solar input. It is intended to give you 'whole home' fail-over power, but in a distributed and add-as-needed environment. It could be an alternative to generators or centrally located power systems. I've been looking for backup power for the boat, and this could work. Not yet available.

They're getting cheaper. I think the sweet spot when be when V2H takes off. Average electric car has 70+ kWh batteries now, if they could supply at the normal 40A L2 charge rate (that's 80% of 50A circuit) you should be able to run most of your house of that. Not your emergency heating (in my case 22kWh heat registers) but pretty much everything else. That would get my oversized system 1 to 2 days at around 32f outside. If the power is out longer than that I will go on vacation.
