Apparently the Powerball Jackpot winner , 84 year old-Gloria Mackenzie, cut in line to buy her lottery tickets.
Should she share the money with the woman she cut in front of?

She didn't "cut in line" as much as the woman let her step in front of her. Nobody's transaction should have any bearing on anybody elses transaction in that line. It is ridiculous to think expect compensation.

I'm sure there will be a lawsuit to follow.

And it is crap like that that drives me crazy. Heck, what if her cutting in line made the one behind her the winner.... would that mean the woman who let her cut is now obligated to compensate her cutting and then the person behind her because THAT person should have been the winner? Stupid.

Come on Kwilla! This is Amuricah, we make our money new style, we file frivolous lawsuits for it!

I'm just speculating about a lawsuit but any lawyer dumb enough to take this case needs to be shot with sheep shyt and hanged for stinking.

I'm all flustered now... this thread has stirred up my caffeine addiction disable. I must go file some paperwork. :drama:

Doesn't matter...

The REAL winners are her immediate family. At 84-years old, she has about 10 years to enjoy it or pizz it all away. Then its gonna go to the family!

I had read, "Mindy Crandell, 34, says that she and her daughter allowed the eventual Powerball jackpot winner, 84-year-old Gloria C. Mackenzie, cut ahead of them in line at a Zephyrhills, Fla., grocery store to buy lottery tickets.

The cashier allowed Crandell the opportunity to reclaim her place in line, ABC News reports, but Crandell declined, allowing Mackenzie to go ahead of them. And apparently, the big winner knows it."

So to me, I had interpreted this as the winner did cut in line, but the other woman didn't put up a fuss... I guess it is all up to your interpretation.

Buying the ticket has nothing to do with line position. If she hadn't "cut in line" the person behind would have done the same thing (played their standard numbers or used Quick Pick) which would not have changed their chances in the least.

I was thinking this exact same thing. The only time position in line would make a difference is if the people chose quick pick.

Not even then. The random numbers change so quickly that there is no way that would ever happen. Using Quick Pick is totally random, and if you pick your own numbers, well.... how can cutting lines change that?

Surely you jest ...

It can't. Machines are shared on qp and in the two seconds it takes to say "$10 qp" those next random #'s are popping out at another location.

I do feel to be nice that a *wouldn't even know it was missing* $1 million share with the woman would be a great gesture.
