Prayers for Comet

Saturday night a friend called to make sure all my pets were safe as they just passed a dead animal on the road near my home. Not knowing if the dog was dead or injured, I had to go check. This beautiful Sheltie, Comet had been hit by a car. I took off his collar and went about the task of calling his mommy and daddy. This was the most heartbreaking phone call Ive had to make. You could hear the excitement in moms voice thinking I had indeed found her baby. She was despondent when I told her what had happened. It turned out they were visiting relatives from Virginia and Comet had somehow got out and got hit. I just want to say how sorry I am for their loss. I can tell you loved Comet so very much. This is just heartbreaking and I can feel your pain. Thank you for calling yesterday to thank me but there really was no need. It is you that I was thinking of all day and how you are doing. Comet is in doggie heaven now and you keep his memory close. RIP Comet, I know you will be missed.

That is so sad for them...That was a good deed on your part to have given them closure even though we wish it could have been better.

That is terrible that the person that hit them and didn't have the nerve to try and save the poor dog No consideration at all That makes me so upset. Poor Comet and his owners! My prayers are with the family, I know how it must feel, especially at the holidays.

Thanks to all, I had a dr app and had to leave after I posted. his dad called me last night to thank me and all I could do was cry with him.
