Prayers

yeah yeah
I just got home from the hosptial. No not me. I got a call from crystal around 8:45 that her daughter, Meghan (my god daughter) was in the hospital and she was going to need emergency surgery. She broke her ENTIRE elbow on the right arm. They had to put 2 pins in to stablize everything, and she is in recovery now. I left as soon as she was becoming responsive again out of anesthesia.

Please pray for her and the healing in her arm. That the bones fuse back together properly and that the swelling starts going down. She is a mere 5 years old. Please pray for my friends little girl.. she needs it. Praise god for bringing her out of surgery good and that he guided the surgeons hands. PRAISE god that they are saying she is doing and responding well. Please pray for a quick healing.

I am going to bed now.. I will explain how it happened later.. but I am really needing to just go to bed

Prayers on the way. Poor little thing. What an experience for a little girl that young.

Did they keep her overnight, or send her home?

OMG, I am sooo sorry! She's young, though, so she'll bounce back quickly. Most of the time the little ones don't remember much about pain...

I'll keep her in my prayers ~ remember that God always takes care of the little ones, one way or another.

WC, that's a part of growing up. She'll be fine. My granddaughter did the same thing a few weeks ago and she's only 4. She's back to ruling the roost...cast, pins and all.

She is definitely in my thoughts. I got chills as I read about what happened to the little girl, but like others are saying, the little ones do bounce back much more easily. This will be a distant memory for her in no time.:huggy:

So I finally get to work at 11am. After a long long night. meghan completely shattered her right elbow... and she had to have emergency surgery. They put 2 pins in her arm and has to have them there for 2 - 3 mths.

When I asked her what happened... she said she was at the park and they were playing follow the leader...around a bench and going up and down and such... and when she went up the next time, another kid came up behind her and stepped on her shoe lace.. and she went to fall and tried to catch herself, and her arm hit the back of the bench and the forearm part when one way when the upper arm went the other. Her elbow was the part that hit on the back of the bench- at such an impact, it completely shattered her elbow.

She came out of surgery @ 12:30am and the doctor brought out pictures for us to look at. Showed us what he did, and said that it should fuse back together nicely because it was a clean break. Not what they thought it was. THANK GOD! It was quite scary when they had wheeled her back, because they told us we could only go so far. Finally they said crys could go back while they put her to sleep. They put crys in the dressing and she went back. About 15 minutes passed and here came crystal crying her eyes out- immediately I wondered what was wrong... she said she was scared because she had never seen anyone put to sleep. She said meghan was screaming crying and then they put the stuff in her IV and then out she went. It was like a split second. Which scared crystal. Which, I dont blame her.

Finally she was in recovery around 1am. We got to go back there and see her. She was of course still knocked out. Crystal didnt really understand. I explained to her, that she ok, just outta it. She watched that monitor on her heart so intensely. I would have been the same way.....

So anyway... they will release her later, as long as the swelling has gone down. Then, I will call crys later. She will be on tylenol with codine, and such, and hopefully her stomach can handle it.
