Pregnant woman collapses and dies at Red Sox game

BOSTON -- An expectant mother meets a horrible fate at Fenway Park in the heat, but her baby survives.

Denise Quickenton, 29, of Schenectedy, New York died after attending a Red Sox game on Saturday, one of the hottest days recorded this year so far. She was 7 months pregnant and expecting her first child with her husband, Todd.

Well, one factor was that she ignored the heat advisory and placed herself and her unborn child at risk by chosing to spend the hottest day of the year sitting in direct sunlight on the bleachers. :ohwell:

True. The past week has been too hot to even walk outside much less sit outside for long periods of time.

True. She probably felt she was in excellent health and could handle the heat. Horrible way to learn a lesson. I feel for the family.
