Yep, I'm pregnant for the first time! Due in a couple of weeks (or so..) I was wondering if anyone knows approx. when I will "drop" I thought I would have by now but it still feels like the baby is up high and still poking my ribs! Thanks so much!

How are we supposed to know? Everyone's pregnancies are different. You could be like me and get induced early. Or you could be like K_Jo and carry way past your due date. That's a question that even your doctor may not be able to answer.

I have to agree with Sockgirl on this one. Everyone is different. I had my first baby 2 weeks before the due date and my second baby 5 days before due date. When the baby is ready, you will know when you are ready.

Signs to look for:

Water Broke (gushing or leak)
Mucus Plug fall out
Active Labor within less than 5 minutes apart

My plug never came out before I had my first but I lost my plugs with the others weeks before they came. So, that's not really a sign.

Mine fell out both time right before my water broke. :shrug:

I guess everyone is different.

Yeah, it is a "cork" to plug the cervix in until the baby is ready to come out.

How many of you were late on the first one? My wife was a week over so we scheduled to induce labor. That was to take place on a Monday. She went into labor on a Saturday morning.

The moral here is: go ahead and schedule to be induced and it'll scare the kid out.
