Preheating the grill/beer can chicken

Went to preheat grill, thermometer was at 125f before I turned on the damn gas. Went to Cooks for a can of beer (only have some homebrewed Oktoberfest and some Sierra Summer Lager in the fridge), got a single Coors Light.

Poured the obligatory half for me, noticed it looked like spring water. Tasted only slightly different than carbonated spring water......... :killingme

Found the same thing when I went to heat the grill for a piece of beef.

And now the instant read thermometer is reading 104f sitting on a table in the shade 4 feet from the grill!

Was restricted to what Cooks had as singles........next time I'll go to International, and see if they have Boh or straight Coors, although I suspect the same sort of results. Using Webers beer can chicken seasoning, we'll see in about an hour or so:)
