WASHINGTON (WCIV) — U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace introduced two bills Monday that would prohibit people convicted of violent crimes from working for the federal and the District of Columbia governments.

The No Violent Criminals in the Federal Workforce Act would bar people convicted of violent crimes from holding federal civil service jobs or working on federal contracts. Mace's No Convicts Running the Capital Act would apply the same restrictions to employment and contracts with the District of Columbia government

One would think, HOPE, that the federal Government would run a background check or somehow vet an incumbent employee and would not hire anyone that has committed a violent crime.

How could he get a basic clearance? One guy was telling me he was trying to get equipment delivered and the pass office wouldn't permit the driver thru due to him having a record.

Also remember the time the DC police academy started short some new cops because they were in jail.
