Pressure Cookers!! Danger!!

I cannot figure this out. If you dropped a pressure cooker, most likely the cap would dislodge and release the pressure along with any food particle that could pass through the small opening.

Maybe for some freak event it did explode, but then even the safest thing handled incorrectly can cause injury and/or death. What's next, the family suing the pressure cooker company for not having a "Do not Drop" warning label on the side?

I guess that's what it was.

Thanks for letting me borrow your pressure cooker few years ago.

 You're Welcome!
What size and how much?
Mirro Pressure Canner 22 Quart - Pressure Cooker Outlet
Similar to this one, shape is a little different, not as tall and I think wider.

I was joking about selling it, but I don't use it anymore. Yours if you want it. Uses a jiggler, not a pressure gauge. In very good shape, gaskets like new, manuals, accessories. Bought it years and years ago, have no idea what I paid for it.

I like lima beans, you don't need to pressure cook them. They give up easily.

Hello, it's a "PRESSURE" Cooker, if you too stupid to operate and maintain one, then don't buy one. I don't see why everyone else has to be denied because a extremely small minority are too ignorant to understand 2nd grade science and too lazy to follow basic safety.

People want to ban pressure cookers? But NOT deep fryers, NOT turkey fryers, NOT outdoor grilles, NOT hot plates, NOT food processors, NOT gas appliances, heck how many electric fires occur a year, as well as shocks, maybe we ought to ban electricity also? Cause didn't you know, the mortality rate was so less than today, back in the stone age.

If you have a Pressure Cooker and you're scratching your head about my comments, maybe you ought to dust off the instructions and warnings and read through them or download them if you lost them.

Pressure Cookers

My Father use to work for Mirro Aluminum years ago. Guess what? We never owned one, so that should tell you something. Second Grade Science, or not..they can be dangerous.

I'd just be being greedy since that's probably the exact same one I have now.
