one of the home channels is showing an episode of a couple renovating a "beach house" in Point Lookout.. They spent 300K on a run down bungalow and are renovating it...

Question 1: Why is 1950's paint always somehow significant? and formica counter tops??? Is that a deal breaker??
Question #2: Why, must you always, always have your svelt wife hit the center of a wall with a 12 pound sledgehammer for no reason.
Finally, showcase day, do all women have to scream oh my godddddddddd?

Because 1950s paint has the chips that Sapidus ate to make his brain melt.

Because she's married to a soyboy who only swings at the gay bar. If she doesn't take that wall down, who will?

Finally, showcase day, do all women have to scream oh my godddddddddd?

It's a soyboy mating call.

Lead paint abatement isn't cheap, and neither is asbestos which lots of houses in that era used for exterior shingles.

The landfill will never know.
but your lungs will.
Good news is if the floor isn't scratched or broken, you can put a barrier over the old floor and lay the new floor on top.
Just don't disturb the fibers!

Also, those old cement shingles can be repaired, the home inspector told my spawn how to do it and the material they needed to get.
Spawn is a new owner of an older home. Remodel isn't just for curb appeal. Structurally the house is fine, it's livable. They were able to buy in a good neighborhood, not over pay. They are willing to do the work. Both know how to use hand tools.
Learned their skills on many a mission trip to Appalachia

Darwin was right
I know asbestos is bad stuff but my Dad was a shipyard worker and was exposed to it a lot in his younger years. He was also a shade tree mechanic and did a lot of brake jobs on cars with asbestos-lined brake shoes. He lived to 93 and never had any lung problems. Along with that exposure, we added on to the back of our house when I was in my teens and removed all the asbestos shingles by breaking them off with hammers. I was probably covered in the dust and who knows how much ended up inside the house. I wouldn't want anyone in my family exposed to it, but nobody in my older family ever had a problem.

You promise that every time liar.

You need to get a grip on what is happening to our Country that allows you to say whatever you want to say, now. If you vote Dem and Harris, that will come to an end. Period. Be careful what you wish for.
