Prime Rib

I bowl overhand
Found it on sale 6.99 a pound.. bought a 5 lb precooked roast tonight, and I swear it was better then any I've ever had in a restaurant. 2.5 hours in a 300 degree oven, cut it with a fork, melt in your mouth and apiced perfectly. Even the "rind" was delicious.

I'd love to tell you where I bought it but we want to go back tomorrow and get whatever is left!

Well, what they call prime rib and serve down here is very easy to surpass. There's only one place I will get prime rib when I'm out, Aberdeen Barn in VA.

Glad you found an acceptable cut! That's a good find.

Sunset Restaurant in Glen Burnie, MD has the best-king & queen cuts of prime rib-delish! It's difficult to find aged beef anywhere...that's the secret to prime rib.

Surely you jest ...
<--- Only dreams of prime rib. *sigh*

and notice I politely passed up quoting FF's post. Although its just one of those open lines and hard to pass up. Oh no its coming to the top its coming out... "Thats what he said." OK... So I said it. sorry.

:coffee:

So, the older the cow- the better the beef?

 No. Aging is a process done after the cow is slaughtered. There's dry and wet aging. Very time consuming when done correctly.

What bugs me are restaurants, some local, that advertise "Prime Rib!!" very boldly, like it's a specialty, only to find they've unfrozen one of those blister pacs in a microwave and tossed it on the grill. What a terrible waste of a cut of meat. A real steak house has whole sides of beef in a chiller, not frozen, and cuts it themselves, then cooks it to order.
