Does your child attend a private school? If so, why? Is your child receiving a good foundation that you hoped for in a private school? I'm a concerned parent looking for feedback as my children will be attending school in the Fall. Can you provide feedback on any of the schools in Southern Maryland such as Little Flower, Father Andrew White, St. Michaels, or KCA (Kings Christian Academy).

The atmosphere there is "under control" which I think is very different from public schools in this area, especially the middle schools. I decided on private school for her because I didn't want her exposed to the chaos that I've seen in public middle school. Which of those parochial schools is in your district? As all schools, they each have a positives and negatives. FAW is the most expensive of the 3 but they have some great teachers. They've got two classes of each grade. LFS and SMS have a smaller enrollment but that can be a positive in teacher/student attention. All parochial schools are only as good as you, the parent and also volunteer, make them. Mine are at MCS and we have a very involved parent community. We feel that makes the best environment for the child. Also the kids that went to high school from my son's class are excelling.lexie1234 said:
KCA is a very academically challenging school. The curriculum is advanced. The price is pretty steep however.
