Private Schools in Southern Maryland

Does your child attend a private school? If so, why? Is your child receiving a good foundation that you hoped for in a private school? I'm a concerned parent looking for feedback as my children will be attending school in the Fall. Can you provide feedback on any of the schools in Southern Maryland such as Little Flower, Father Andrew White, St. Michaels, or KCA (Kings Christian Academy).

My daughter goes to Little Flower. I love the school. There are only 13 kids in her class, and two teachers. The atmosphere there is "under control" which I think is very different from public schools in this area, especially the middle schools. I decided on private school for her because I didn't want her exposed to the chaos that I've seen in public middle school. It is not the administrations' fault - I believe their hands are tied as far as doing any real discipline, and the kids know it! Little Flower is expensive, but SO worth it in my opinion.

Which of those parochial schools is in your district? As all schools, they each have a positives and negatives. FAW is the most expensive of the 3 but they have some great teachers. They've got two classes of each grade. LFS and SMS have a smaller enrollment but that can be a positive in teacher/student attention. All parochial schools are only as good as you, the parent and also volunteer, make them. Mine are at MCS and we have a very involved parent community. We feel that makes the best environment for the child. Also the kids that went to high school from my son's class are excelling.
KCA is a very academically challenging school. The curriculum is advanced. The price is pretty steep however.

Our district is south of the base. St. Michaels is closer but KCA & Little Flower would be an option.
Which parish do you belong to? Reduced rates for in parish.
