St. Mary's College Professor of Music David Froom's "Shades of Red" for solo viola has just been released as part of the American Composer Alliance's "The Shelter Recordings," an initiative created to support musicians sheltering in place while awaiting the return of live performing. Froom's music was selected and recorded by Rita Porfiris, professor of viola at the Hartt School of Music. The recording (a video) and a description of Porfiris is available here:
