Pam Mertz, professor of biochemistry, presented a talk, “The Gen Z Student: Who Do We Teach” in the session “Teaching Gen Z: Challenges and Opportunities” at the ASBMB Discover BMB meeting in Seattle, Washington on March 25. In addition, on March 27, she helped facilitate a workshop on iCn3D, a web-based molecular modeling program from the National Center for Biotechnology Information. The creator of the program, Jiyao Wang, helped lead the workshop as well as colleagues from BioMolViz. Mertz was also a co-author on the presentation “Evaluating Biomolecular Visual Literacy: A Library of Classroom-Tested Assessments for instructor Use.”
