Australia’s Northern Territory Premier Michael Gunner, infamous for his tyrannical tirade against jab mandate opponents, just announced his resignation. An unhinged Gunner infamously ranted that “if you are anti-mandate you are absolutely anti-vaxx; if you say you are pro-persuasion, stuff it. I will never back away from supporting the vaccines.” He’d ordered some of the strictest and harshest vaccine mandates and quarantine rules in Australia.
The 46-year-old Premier explained yesterday that, after the birth of his second child, “my head and my heart are no longer in the job.” And the voters are no longer in his pocket.
Gunner is the fourth senior Australian premier to quit or be dumped by voters in the last few months. New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian quit in October amidst an anti-corruption investigation; Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein resigned last month citing the pressure of governing through the pandemic; and South Australian Premier Steven Marshall lost the election in late March.
I’m guessing all this is good news for our Australian friends. What do you say, mates?
