Proof that Canadians are insane

Steve

Enjoying life!
The related savings per person for these services was 445 Canadian dollars (387 US) per month.
The average cost to administer the program per person was 771 Canadian dollars (670 US) per month.
Yeah, that makes even more sense.

Free money may improve the health and lives of bank robbers and reduce their run-ins with police, according to a study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.

Further...

Seventeen chronic bank robbers who robbed upwards of 2 banks an hour over the past 35 years, including cheap substitutes such as ATM's and Salvation Army pots which often led to unconsciousness from being beaned by bell wielding Salvation volunteers, were offered a roll of pennies, Canadien, or a $2 bill, US, each hour, from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm at an Ottawa shelter over five to 24 months.

Preliminary results showed that robberies by this control group actually increased over the period. One member of the control who wished to remain nameless said "Eh, you can buy aboot #### with Canadien money. We want US greenbacks." Another man, Jean Claude Le Bank Robber said "Eh, you hoser. What'dyah effing eh well expect? We're bank robbers and that's what robbers do, eh."

Or proof that they just plain hate us....

VANCOUVER - It was near the end of the United States' semi-final game at the World Junior Hockey Championship when a group of foreign relations experts in the stands began chanting:

"U.S. sucks!"

Small detail here:

A Canadian team was not on the ice at the time.

If one were, that would have gone some way toward explaining the Yankee animus oozing out of the stands: File it under home-ice over-exuberance. It would have been forgivable. Barely.

But the Americans were playing the Russians at the time.

And the Canadian crowd wasn't just rooting for the Russians -- amazing enough in itself, considering that bitter history -- it was rooting against the Americans. And the chanters weren't so much interested in a hockey game as scoring points against America, the country, not the team

.....

I've said before, I liked them a lot more when I didn't know much about them. Canadians ought to be glad for that, instead of complaining that we don't know much about them.
