Seems you can get a better deal on a phone at Walmart than the Verizon store. Any reasons not to? Time for my upgrade.

It's just a liscensed distributor like most of the other places. I have found the best deals at Radio Shack of all places. Once the phone is activated they pretty much have nothing to do with it, so no different than buying it at any other location, or even at verizon.com

It's funny how you can get a better deal on a Verizon phone at places other than the actual Verizon store.

I went to the Verizon store to have my step daughter take over her portion of the bill and get her upgrade. The Verizon rep did all the paperwork but told us to go to Best Buy to get a better deal on the phone she wanted

Not sure with Verizon but alot of AT&T stores are actually independant stores that are liscensed (the one by Walmart being one). The Verizon store on GMR is not a Verizon owned store btw.

The people that work at those places can barely work the cash register, Ill take my chances, haven't had a malfunction yet.

So if I buy at walmart/Target/best buy i can get the same insurance and still go into a verizon store or call verizon if my phone has a problem?

Why would you be able to go to a Verizon store if your phone that you purchased from another provider has a problem?

I would think Verizon stores service Verizon-purchased phones.

FYI

According to the Verizon website there is only one verizon store within 20 miles of Lexington Park

Verizon Wireless at Lexington Park

23105 Three Notch Rd
California , MD 20619
(301) 863-9094

So what you think may be Verizon stores, might just be authorized resellers. (Like Target and Walmart)

I think they just opened one recently on GMR at Shangri La. At least I've seen Verizon signs over there.

No I don't think so, but I am trying to see if I can buy insurance out right from them. I don't understand why if you aren't willing to pay the money they wont sell it to you

Authorized Reseller, not a Verizon owned store, says so right on Verizons website.

I shopped around quite a bit before buying my phone. I found the best deal at BJ's. I have the same insurance (Asurion) on it that Verizon sells in the store and you can take it to a Verizon store to get fixed. :yay:

The biggest con of buying your cellphone at Hell-Mart would be having to actually go into Hell-Mart.

And some level of the sale goes to fund the ever-prolific dealings of WalMart with China. I go to great lengths to avoid WalMart.
