DQ was accepted into the first phase of the academically gifted program at school. :yahoo: :yahoo: I always knew the potential was there, but last year was a stretch just getting her to concentrate and focus on her classwork. This year -- night and day difference! I'm so proud of her. :bawl:

The next phase consists of taking two tests, then the top 10% of kids from there are entered. Her teacher and I have no doubts she'll make it, as she's scored extremely well on the tests thus far. :yay:

I'm taking her out to dinner tonight to celebrate, and to buy a special treat from the Discovery store. :smile:

Congrats! :banana: I was in the academically gifted program too. :yay: We learned about Mt Vesuvius once, which led to a lifelong fear of volcanoes. :lmao:
