PS 3 Lockup

Magnum

Should be Huntin
So I'm playing the Resistance 2 game last night with probably 4 or 5 hours in it since I got the new game. Im guessing it the last level or close to it, all of a sudden I get by a door walk to the side and get stuck, couldn't move. I dropped a grenade to kill myself to just start over at the last checkpoint.... so I thought. After I died the screen went black and froze, couldn't do anything. Had to hit the switch on the back then it took a while to get it to all come back on. Well as if getting up and messing around with this wasn't bad enough I start the game again, go to load my game and it was wiped from the hard drive :burning: I got out of the game and checked and all my other games are there and a corrupted file. Anyone know how to un-corrupt the file?

:killingme ..... sorry Im not laughing at your expense. Well, yes I am. (I thought the PS3 was supposed to be perfect)

Dude, unless you can pull the harddrive and slave it into an actuall computer, its not easy to run file recovery on console systems.

Your better off just deleting the file and starting over.

It could be worse. You could have actually lost all the games, which is what happened to me last year on my Xbox360.

Yeah this happened to my sons friend so I put his PS3 drive on my laptop and reformatted it for him. Seems to work fine now. You could always replace it with a larger drive too.

Was it a frag grenade? If so, that can 'eff the hard drive up on suicides... it blows the bits to holy hell. Sorry for your loss. :flowers:

Seriously - do what the others say, it will make it all better.
