The deli lady gave my kid a green sugar cookie back around Christmas. Kid did not like it but because mommy taught them to graciously accept all gifts even if they do not like them and to use please and thank you kid took it with a smile said thank you and sneaked it in mommy's purse. Cookie crumbled and I am still picking green sand out of anything that comes out of it.

My purse has not managed to grow so large that I misplaced an entire box of graham crackers in it! :killingme

I had to ask

At least it wasn't "stolen"

I find all sorts of things in my purse, but it's usually matchboxes (from home of course)

Now the shopping cart is another matter. There are all kinds of surprises in there when we get to the checkout

I keep mine too busy to think about snatching things. Little girl sits in the seat of the basket, so boy goes in the main part. I hand him everything I pick up, so he spends the whole time trying to hold onto everything. He doesn't even notice as I fly past the goldfish.

That's great

I can't seem to physically get a/o keep mine in the cart.

And he still seems to pick things off the shelves without me seeing that he has done so

I think that riding in the basket is still a novelty with mine. He'll try and stand up occasionally if we're not moving, but he's figured out that if I start moving he'd better sit his ass down with a quickness. Maybe have him ride ON the basket? Like standing in front of you, facing forward, hold the handlebars and put his feet on the bar below?

Something else I've seen other people doing (at Giant) is having their smaller kids pull those smaller wheeled baskets. The ones that look like large hand baskets but have the long handle (that's not quite long enough). Not sure it'll cut down on the grabbies, but it'll make them easier to spot!

 This reminds me of my son when he was 3. He was standing next to my cart at Walmart. I had his sister in the front of the cart and was 7 months preggers with #3. He grabbed a Lightning McQueen toy off the shelf and put it in the cart. I was looking right at him as he did this. This wasn't a Matchbox size toy. This was the 24" or so one that talked. I just shook my head and told him that his birthday had just passed and he had plenty of toys. He smiled and told me that it was not for him, it was for the new baby. I cracked up laughing and told him that we'd buy it for her when she was a 3 year old boy. :lmao:
