Psalm 112[a]
1 Praise the Lord.[b]
Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
who find great delight in his commands.
2 Their children will be mighty in the land;
the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches are in their houses,
and their righteousness endures forever.
4 Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
5 Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
who conduct their affairs with justice.
6 Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
they will be remembered forever.
7 They will have no fear of bad news;
their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
8 Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;
in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
9 They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor,
their righteousness endures forever;
their horn[c] will be lifted high in honor.
10 The wicked will see and be vexed,
they will gnash their teeth and waste away;
the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

Well those Bible Students are making statements again in the easy English commentary.
Bible students think that Psalm 112 follows Psalm 111 in a special way. Psalm 111 is about a righteous God. Psalm 112 is about the man that God makes righteous. Now the word "righteous" in the Bible is a special word. It means "always doing what is right". Only God is really righteous. But the people that love and obey God are also*righteous. They are not righteous because they always do what is right. Sometimes they do what is not right! They are righteous because God gives them the gift of righteousness. This means that when God looks at them, he sees them as righteous! Often, their family and friends do not see this, but God does. Righteousness is a gift that God gives to people. He gives it to people who:
· are sorry that they have done wrong things;
· promise to try not to do them again;
· take the help that God gives to them.
Here's how I see this..... humans are stupid and they make mistakes.... they stray.... like sheep as the book tells us.... God pushes us back in line..... Because He loves us.... He doesn't just lop off our heads and serve us for dinner..... we're not perfect enough.... He's working on that.... so for now... He's just forgiving us and shuffling us back in line..... and no... we're not headed for slaughter.... we're headed for greener pastures if we get in His line.....
