Oh Turbo ..... :poke: I need your expertise .... :notworthy

I tried on the muzzle I have (I used on my crazy Rottie when I took him to the vet - oh how he hated the vet) on my new boy and his nose is so darn short that it fits, but not well. He would succeed at getting it off with his paw .....

Once I had the strap adjusted as tight as it would go (strap around head), he couldn't get it off and then THREW himself to the floor as if giving up ... LOL and just LAID there ..... so I took advantage of that and trimmed his nails - didn't do a good job, but got the tips anyway.

What muzzle do you suggest I buy for him? here's a picture of the type I have now .....

Sounds like the muzzle you have is also serving as a tranquilizer, so what seems to be the problem?

Hehehe. OK that's pretty normal for a dog that isn't used to it. My dogs used to try and try to get them off... rolling, pawing, rubbing on trees... LOL.

However... Nylon muzzles suck. They are neither rugged, nor safe. They are great for say, grooming or vet stuff, but if you are going to training him outside, in this heat, you really need a basket style so he can pant and drink and bark naturally.

Just google "basket muzzle". I personally prefer leather because the good ones look badass LOL, and the wire ones look ghetto :) and rust in time.

I like the other website.. they have breed specific muzzles...

the only reason I like wire vs leather is you have more ventilation factor there... my friend uses the wire one when working her dog off lead around other dogs... she also has the other type "pyramid" style... now this allows him to still open and hold a ball... so he could still bite .. but she can control how tight she closes it.
