LEONARDTOWN, MD (January 24, 2021) – The St. Mary’s County Health Department (SMCHD) has been notified that additional COVID-19 vaccine will be allocated to the health department during the week of January 25th, allowing more appointments to be scheduled for eligible community members.
New vaccination clinic registration links are now available on our website at: www.smchd.org/covid-19-vaccine. Appointment slots are expected to fill quickly, as local allotments are less than eligible population demand. If clinics are already filled, please check back to the website next Friday for new clinic registration links for the following week.
Currently Eligible to Register for Vaccination Clinics:
Please note that Phase 1C occupational groups are NOT eligible at this time in St. Mary’s County due to local prioritization of residents aged 65 years and older. Additional notification will be provided as Phase 1C occupational groups become eligible in St. Mary’s County.
Organizations/businesses seeking to verify occupational eligibility may complete the surveys for their Phase/Group that are posted online at: www.smchd.org/covid-19-vaccine.
Phase 1C Occupational Groups
At this time, in order to prioritize appointments for those aged 65 and older in Phase 1C, the occupational groups of Phase 1C will not yet be eligible. The weekly allotment of vaccine from the state will determine when Phase 1C occupational groups will become eligible locally.
SMCHD is encouraging businesses/organizations that are eligible as part of Phase 1C and located within St. Mary’s County to submit their information via this survey for advance review and to receive information on registering for COVID-19 vaccination when eligible. Individual employees do not need to complete the survey. Please only have one point of contact per organization complete the survey. Phase 1C occupational groups include:

- St. Mary’s County residents age 65 years and older
- St. Mary’s County residents age 16 and older with a developmental or cognitive disability (requires written verification of eligibility from health care provider, such as letter or medical record brought to vaccine appointment)
- Phase 1A Occupations – Licensed, registered or certified healthcare providers and their staff; EMS & Fire Rescue first responders; law enforcement (including corrections); public health professionals responding to the pandemic; and judiciary staff
- Phase 1B Occupations – Education sector/school personnel (PreK – grade 12); child care providers; higher educational institutes (faculty/staff for essential in-person learning that cannot be provided remotely); and elected officials/continuity of government

- Critical manufacturing
