Puppy Anyone?

Well, as you all know I'm moving out of my current situation, and sadly I cannot take our puppy with me. He's not welcome where I will be going. That means the poor guy will have to stay home by himself, and in the crate at that. I don't feel it would be fair to the dog to keep him locked up from 9pm to 6 pm the next day, it's no way for him to live. I've concluded that the best thing for him would be to find him a suitable home. He's 27 weeks old, and hasn't been fixed or had his shots yet, he's mostly white with one large black spot on his side, and black ears/head. He's very sweet, and loves to play and deserves better than we can give him right now. If I can't find a good home for him by this weekend he'll have to go to Tri-County. I'd hate to see that happen, is there anyone here that would be interested in a new puppy??? Please, let me know soon!! Thanks!

Take your puppy to Tri-County... At least there he will receive the necessary vaccinations that he has been severely neglected to be given so far before going up for adoption. Sounds like your current situation was the best thing that could of happened for your puppy...

I agree with appyday, If money was tight you should have dropped your ISP for a month and used those funds to ensure your puppies good health...

27 weeks = almost 7 mos. and no shots! :shocking: That is a big :nono: , especially with a toddler around.

Best thing is the animal shelter. Puppies are in and out in no time! I understand money was tight, but I have sold many a precious keepsake of mine on Ebay to cover vet bills and kid expenses.

Good luck...I know it is a hard decision to let go of a pup, but you're doing the right thing.

Hopefully you will back up on your feet in no time! :smoochy:

I guess we were misinformed, no one has stressed the shots so hard before, especially since he is an inside dog. We've had him dewormed, if that counts for anything.

Money hasn't been the issue, hence the reason we still have the isp. I'm not at all unfamiliar with giving up things for my son. He is, and always will be the priority. But, thanks for the advice, and the knowledge about how important it is for dogs to get their shots. It's my first dog personally, so I wasn't aware. Next time I'll make sure I'm completely informed before getting myself into something.

Where did you get a job?

For a local small landscaping company, with my computer skills I'll be typing invoices, and letters to customers and billing and filing, and whatnot. It will be nice, my ex actually used to work for this guy so I know how he is. And besides that, it really is a small company, aside from the owner they employ 2 other people. It will be nice.

I also got my son in daycare, he'll start monday when I start working. And tomorrow, we're moving into the space we're renting from my ex's family. So all is shaping up nicely.

Are you still sad? Doing better? Excited about starting over?

Well, still sad of course, but I can see the bright side about starting over. It was a lot easier for me once I sat down and made 'a plan' and then starting putting it into motion. That and the fact that I could picture myself being the weepy woman who never moves on and never lets go, and I decided I would never let myself be that woman. It's ok to cry about it, but I shouldn't let it keep me from living my life.

Thought you said he had no shots....

Just for to be dewormed. I'm sorry, I'm just not very good with that. I let my ex deal with everything, and talked to some family and that wasn't something that ever came.

 Starting over is exciting once you get past the weepy stage.

I'd check the internet. I don't know but I'm sure that MD has "no kill" shelters. A puppy won't last long anyways before someone picks him up. The SPCA is good also because they do a background check and will actually go by your place and check it out before you can adopt so you know the little bugger will get a good home.

Tri county is NOT a NO KILL shelter...
Don't take him there then. If you can't find one, I know there is one over here in King George county, VA, across the potomic down 301.

PiP, is he a specific brand of dog, or a mixture?

Yea, I was wondering that myself. What kind of dog is it? It might help if we knew that to help you find new owners for it. I know folks that are looking, but dag.... 7 months and no shots...that'll make folks nervous.
