Bustem' Down
Give Peas a Chance
Anyone see it? Was it good or no?
I like your first review better... (see post 4)DotTheEyes said:A problem with this movie, which is good, is this simple fact: Chris Gardner's story isn't cinematic. It's certainly inspiring, but ultimately it is just the story of a 'loser' becoming a 'winner' by earning $$$ and sneaking into a more exclusive club. The life of Oskar Schindler called out to be made into a movie (Schindler's List), as did the life of Howard Hughes (The Aviator) and, on a more contemporary note, Jeffrey Wigand (The Insider).
Gardner's story is nice, but not cinematic or particuarly interesting... so no matter how good Will Smith's acting is or how realistic the cinematography is, there is a ceiling on this film's quality.
