Just heard that the Baltic nations have closed their borders to fleeing Russian potential conscripts.
Video streaming from several exit points from Russia...I don't remember seeing any B & W films of 18 year olds fleeing to Canada in 1968...
6000 made it into Finland yesterday (Fox news).
What does this say about HOW MUCH do Russians know of the Ukrainian debacle? The state media apparently can't drown out the the reality of their losses & mismanagement.
Protesters getting hauled off ...interesting.
The latest ploy by the Soviets (they never changed their stripes) is to hold a plebiscite in the Oblasts of the East--claim they have joined Russia,...and thus any military action in those zones would be considered an attack on Mother Russia....and recalling their beloved paranoia...they would blame NATO and escalate.
Sometimes Chess requires at least three moves to anticipate.
Also...aware that Erdogan of Turkey has issued a demand for full restoration of Ukraine's territory including the Crimea. Now considering that he controls the Bosporus... Are we looking at Oct 1914 again? (Ottomans doom Russia by sealing off all grain exports?) BTW I have seen a review of Turkish drones...they appear to be fast-tracking their production while improving their quality. I would welcome any Navair observations on the topic.
