Quest & LabCorp

Anyone else have a problem with these lab companies? Both have sent me bills for services that BC/BS paid in full. I think its a scam because they know you will pay them again so they don't ding your credit report.

I called them and told them they were paid in full. They said get a copy of the EOB and write a letter and mail it to us. what a PITA!

I can see a lot of elderly people.. getting these "fake" bills and just paying them.

Not to mention even after you call them and tell them you don't owe them they call your home 3,4, and 5 times per day.

Are they trying to wear ya down so you just pay the dam thing again?:cds:

My Dr. is upstairs from the LabCorp office on Old Washington Road. If memory serves, the last time I went in for lab work, I asked what my balance was and I was told something like, "We can't give you an account balance; but, if you call this number....." So, I called the number and got that "Press 1 for....." menu but never got anybody with a pulse." BUT, recently I did get a "Past Due" notice for something like 8 bucks.

I thought going downstairs from my Doc's office would be convenient and 'no-hassle;' instead of having to make an additional appt. with my family doc just for a blood test; and having to take sick time off work for an additional appt. Yet, if I don't pay it; and since I cannot verify anaything; it'll show up on my credit report; which sux anyway.

I have not had a problem with either one of them yet. I was always trying to use Labcorp, but have now been trying to use St. Hary's Hospital in Chalotte Hall, exclusively.

Occassionally, we'll get duplicate bills from LabCorp but nothing major that isn't easily resolved.

I keep getting bills from there for $3.50 so i wrote a check to them. Couple of months went by i get another bill for the same price for same lab work. when i called i just kept pressing 0 till i got a human and they told me i didn’t pay them well i faxed them a copy of the check (of course with my account info blacked out and such) that i got from my bank that had their name on it and that it went through 5 days after i mailed it. I haven’t seen another bill from mostly since i don’t use them anymore

Over the years I have had to call them many times and ask why I was being billed when they hadn't even submited a claim to my insurance company. Both companies said that they had sent a claim in and they would resubmit.
I always felt that this was an effort to get paid twice as this went on for a couple of years before I had enough and got just a little nasty with them and questioned their business practices. When confronted in this manner they seemed to be able to get their s**t together and I have had no furthur problem.:yahoo:

I used the Prince Frederick Labcorp once - that was enough. The office was extremely hot (over 90 degrees) and the music from the warehouse next door was thumping so loud (through a wall no less) that you could not carry on a conversation. Although my insurance covered the blood test, the she couldn't provide an answer. I cancelled the appointment on the spot and have never gone back. I'll never do business with Labcorp again!

Both my wife and I have had billing problems with them in the past. It has always ended up being their error or a doctor billing error. They have been a pain to deal with.

I was sent to Labcorp from Johns Hopkins (USFHP/Tricare) and Labcorp took my insurance card. A month later I get a bill for $283? I assumed LabCorp would of said we don't except USFHP/Tricare? I donno...
